According to the current statutes of the OEITFL, membership is open to associations and companies representative of the fruit and vegetables processing in the EU Member States and in the candidate countries.

OEITFL may have full members as well as associate members.

Full members are:

Category 1 : the national associations that are representatives of the fruit and vegetable processing industries in the Member States of the European Union which subscribe to the Statutes, subject to the approval of the General Assembly.

Category 2 : the companies approved by the General Assembly which are established in countries where no national association exists which is recognised as being representative of the fruit and vegetable processing industry or are established in countries where the representative national association does not wish to join the Organisation. Only companies with significant economic weight may form part of the Organisation.

The General Assembly may define specific membership arrangements in each particular case. The companies approved as full members in this way by the General Assembly may not form part of the Executive Committee (Art.28 of the Statutes) and have no voting right (Art. 16.2).

When 3 companies or more are approved within the same country, they shall form an association among themselves.

Associate members are:

National associations representing the fruit and vegetable processing industries in the candidate countries for accession to the European Union. The General Assembly shall define the membership arrangements for associate members. Once such a candidate country gains accession to the European Union, the associate members may become full members provided they accept these statutes and the financing and operational rules in effect at the time of their full application. Associate members may not form part of the Executive Committee (Art.28 of the Statutes) and have no voting right (Art. 16.2).

The full and the associate members join to the Organisation for all the products that they represent and that are of the competence of the Organisation.

Members accept the Statutes and undertake to comply with them. They shall subscribe to the general policy of the Organisation and respect the positions, codes and agreements in effect within the Organisation at the time of their affiliation.
